PAST EVENT - Ashram Retreat with Swami Tattvarupananda

Swamiji is doing wonderful work in India providing gurukulams (orphanages which include the practices and teachings of yoga) to give opportunity and education to boys and girls from underprivileged backgrounds. 


'We are delighted once again to be hosting Swami Tattvarupananda for two Bhagavad Gita Workshops.'

It will be the same format on both days but with talks on different aspects of the Bhagavad Gita. The Bhagavad Gita is a fundamental yogic text of great beauty and insight. It teaches how to live ethically in the world with wisdom, compassion and good conduct.

Swami Tattvarupananda will focus on Lord Krishna's (our highest self) teachings to Arjuna (each one of us) and how they can be implemented in our everyday lives. This is a great opportunity to study with Swamiji who is a specialist on the Bhagavad Gita

Mark will teach two extended Classical Sivananda Asana classes inspired by ATTC classes taken with Swami Govindananda in the Himalayas in 2007.Suitable for students of all traditions and levels of experience

Saturday Focus.

What do we need to change about our inner disposition in order to better deal with the ups and downs of everyday existence, and how to create this inner transformation with acceptance, discernment and devotion.

Sunday Focus.

What is the true purpose of this holy life? How can we learn to appreciate and cultivate the precious gift of this human birth and realise our true potential.

About Swami Tattvarupananda Swami Tattvarupananda is a direct disciple of the well known Master Swami Dayananda Saraswati, he is a living master of the traditional yogic scriptures on which all of our practices are based. He has a humorous and simple and way of sharing this profound knowledge. We are blessed to have Swamiji with us at The Yoga Studio. Swamiji was a keen spiritual seeker from an early age. He set off for the Himalayas aged 18 in search of a teacher and underwent rigorous spiritual practices in the company of many Himalayan masters. He found his Guru and studied traditional Sanskrit and Vedantic scripture, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita etc and was initiated into the order of Sanyasa in 2003. Swamiji took Sivananda TTC and Intensive in 2004. He teaches with our teacher Swami Govindananda on Sivananda Yoga Peetham teacher training's throughout India and worldwide. Swamiji has also devoted himself to the care of underprivileged children, founding two JJK Gurukulam Orphanages in Trivandrum Kerala, India, www.jjkgurukulam.org ,jjkgurukulam@gmail.com where underprivileged children are given love, education, yoga and opportunity. The proceeds from this programme will help to support Swamiji's work in India
